Who am I?
My name is Chris Edwards and I am a software developer with 15 years of professional experience writing software, plus many more prior to that as a hobbyist. I love software design and development. I consider myself blessed to love what I do for a living.
I am married to the woman of my dreams (Niki), and we have two sons: Hayden (5) and Parker (1). I truly don’t deserve the family God has given me, and I am thankful for them.
I also serve as an elder and worship leader at Hill Country Bible Church, Hutto. My life was radically changed in 2004 when I really came to know who Jesus Christ was, and I understood how God sent him to die in my place, to pay for my sins, so that I would not have to pay for them myself. I accepted Christ’s payment for my sins, and my life is forever changed. I can’t help but serve God in any way I can out of gladness and thankfulness for how good of a God He is.
How did I become a developer?
When I was a kid, I saw the movie “Wargames†with Matthew Broderick. I was fascinated by computers and made up my mind then and there that I wanted to be a programmer. So, here I am.
Why this blog?
I have learned much in my career as a developer. The more I learn, the more I am aware of how much I don’t know. Some things I learned “the hard wayâ€. And in retrospect, I wish someone had been there to set me straight. Most of what I know was learned in self-study reading books & blogs, and good old fashioned trial and error. Since I learned much from what others have written, I felt that it is only fitting that I contribute to others so that they can do the same. This blog is my effort to help others along in their career. I hope and pray you find it useful.
